Bittersweet Moments

Sorry it's been soooo long...since I have updated. It's been a rough month with different stresses. I'm just trying to make it through day to day. I have been sick with a sinus infection for about 3 weeks (I've been on 2 different antibiotics and nothing has cleared it up so far) and then I got pink eye (first time I have ever gotten it, don't know where I got it, doctor thinks it could be related to the sinus infection? Rykken never got it...thank goodness!) Then today I went back to the doctor...different doctor, and was put on a third antibiotic while I am finishing the second for a bacterial infection. Awesome. Rykken's not feeling so hot either, he has a stuffy nose (as always) and his asthma is acting up with the weather change (of course). Good news...Rykken has his surgery for ear tube insertion soon, so hopefully....he will start feeling better soon after. I swear, I have spent more time at the doctor's office between Rykken and I these past weeks then in my entire life. My insurance company is probably cursing my name. Oops...oh well, like I said, as soon as Rykken has his surgery hopefully it will get better. On a lighter note, or stressful note, Rykken is pulling up and army crawling. He can crawl with his tummy off of the floor, but I have only seen him do it twice, once when I was spying on him around the corner and a second time he just got up and crawled and then fell down and started army crawling. He is a fast mover....he hauls across the floor on his tummy to get what he wants....it's quite funny. He is super busy and into EVERYTHING! He has definitely started keeping me on my toes. Just yesterday he started pulling himself up into a standing position. He pulls himself up on the couch and his crib and at daycare they said he has been pulling himself up on the side of the exersaucer. He actually got an ouch report because he smashed his own toe under the saucer. Rykken still hasn't had any teeth come in, but he is eating particular soft table foods and those puffs...(like soft cheerios). He also gets a sippy cup at dinner to play with and practice using seeing as how he needs to be off the bottle in 4 months. He thinks the sippy cup is a big treat...now...he won't be thinking the same after I deprive him of his beloved bottle when he turns 1.

Rykken has an Easter egg hunt at daycare on Thursday that I am super excited about. Hopefully I will get some cute pictures and video. He has an airplane Easter basket that is pretty much awesome. We are going to go to my sisters for Easter this year because my niece's 3rd birthday is on the 11th. So we will have her party on Sat. and just relax and have fun, and then Easter on Sunday! Pretty excited about it! I got Rykken a baby einstein sign language video for Easter, I use sign language with him now, but hopefully the video will help "us" learn more. I show him eat, more, and please, he of course doesn't get it yet, but hopefully he will get the hang of it soon, my friend Amy's daughter Addison uses sign language, she is 14 months old and it's so cool. We will see how it goes! I also got him a new sippy cup, pacifiers, and his first baby Bible. I'm so excited to give it to him, he won't know the difference...but still...it's fun!
