Little Boy Blue

Rykken is now two months old! How time flies! Rykken has completed his second week of daycare and I can honestly say that we both faired well. I really like the daycare and the teachers. Rykken is the rockstar of the center! He is the youngest baby there...the next closest in age is 6 months old. On Friday when I dropped him off the director said everyone loves him around the center. She said she catches her other teachers in the nursery holding him when they are on their break, she said he is hardly ever put down. Which is a good thing! Rykken is still sleeping well...getting up once a night, but now we are mastering the art of him only being up for a max of 20 minutes...long enough to change his toosh and eat. He has also mastered the art of self soothing...HALLEIGHUA! I put him to bed when he is drowsy and he puts himself to sleep, so after he eats, I just put him back to bed and it takes about 5 minutes of him kicking his legs and grunting and then he goes to sleep....I must say....IT IS THE BEST THING EVER! A lot of it has to do with him being in daycare...which is one good thing about having to put your baby in daycare...is they are forced to self soothe themselves because obvisouly the teacher can't hold them all the time and I think some of it has to do with the fact that he has found his hands and sucks on them instead of screaming until I pop a pacifier in his mouth. All in all...my life has gotten ten times easier in those early morning hours. Rykken has his two month check up tomorrow afternoon...I am very anxious to see how much he weighs and how long he is...but I'm not excited for the immunizations. Baby tylenol here we come! Rykken has been sick this past week with a congestion thing (gotta love daycare) and so he has been spitting up at almost every feeding...which I am contributing to drainage...so hopefully we can get that taken care of at this appointment as well. Besides that...he is still smiling away....loving his mobiles....liking the swing better and spending a significant amount of time under his gym...which I must say is a life saver when its time to clean house! He is just a sweet baby and I am so lucky to have him!
